Requirements Updated for 2026 Season
WEC has updated its health requirements for the 2026 season. All horses must have a current negative Coggins and valid health certificate to enter the showgrounds. Verify all documents with your veterinarian at least 72 hours before arrival.
Required Documents
Negative Coggins Test Required
Must be current within 12 months. Official USDA EIA test only. Must accompany horse at all times on grounds. Digital copies accepted if printed on arrival.
Health Certificate Required
Interstate health certificate required for horses arriving from out of state. Must be issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days of arrival (some states require 10 days — verify with your vet).
Influenza / Rhinopneumonitis Required
Vaccination within 6 months required for all USEF-rated shows. Core vaccine — must be documented in vet records or on a signed USEF Health Declaration form.
USEF/USHJA Membership
Horse and rider must hold current USEF and applicable USHJA membership for rated divisions. Verify membership status at usef.org before each season.
Recommended Vaccinations
EHV-1 (Herpesvirus) Recommended
Strongly recommended for any horse attending multi-horse events. WEC recommends vaccination within 6 months. Some barns require it for stall rental. Check with your trainer.
West Nile Virus Recommended
Annual vaccination recommended for Florida horses. Mosquito populations in Marion County make this an important precaution, especially in summer and fall show season.
Tetanus & Rabies Recommended
Annual tetanus and rabies vaccinations recommended as core vaccines. Florida has reported cases of equine rabies — don\\\'t skip this one.
Strangles Recommended
Consider intranasal Strangles vaccine for horses frequently mixing with new horses at shows. Discuss with your vet given the high horse density at WEC shows.
Stabling & Arrival Rules
Stall Assignments
Stalls assigned through your trainer or show secretary. All stall requests must be submitted with entry. Walk-in stalls available on a first-come, first-served basis at the show office.
Arrival Times
Horses may arrive Monday before each show week. Grounds open at 7:00 AM. Night check available — contact barn management. No arrivals after 10:00 PM without prior arrangement.
Shavings & Feed
Shavings available for purchase on-site. Outside feed and hay allowed. Feed vendors on grounds. Water available at all stall areas.
On-Grounds Rules
Biosecurity
Do not allow your horse nose-to-nose contact with unfamiliar horses. Wash hands between handling different horses. Report any respiratory illness immediately to show management.
Pets on Property
Dogs must be leashed at all times and are not permitted in indoor rings or warm-up areas. Dog owners are responsible for cleanup. WEC reserves the right to remove any pet causing disruption.
Trailer Parking
Trailer parking designated in the east lot. Overnight trailer parking requires prior arrangement and fee. No generators in trailer areas after 10:00 PM. Haul-in day stalls available.
